About Us

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Welcome to the Arkansas College of Massage !!!!!

The intent of this massage school is to teach students to become Elite Licensed Massage Therapist, as well as to provide Continuing Education Credits for existing massage therapists.

Licensed Massage Therapists are strengthening the bridge between Bodywork and Modern Medicine by working in physical therapy units, family practice clinics, and chiropractor's offices. LMT's are also entering into the world of athletics by working in training rooms to enhance the performance of athletes. The educational program at ACOMT will also address the growing demand for spa treatments. Techniques such as Hot Stone massage - Reflexology - Aromatherapy - Salt rubs - Hydrotherapy will prepare the student to be part of this exciting field of massage!

The ACOMT Philosophy:

The philosophies of ACOMT are based on a mind, body, and spirit model. Any imbalance in this model manifests in resistance within the physical body. The curriculum at ACOMT has been influenced by the opinion that if a body worker can understand and work with the physical stresses placed upon an athlete; then the physical stresses placed upon the average human are easier to understand.

Education Objectives: ~ 500 Hour Training Program

The purpose of ACOMT is to train and qualify Licensed Massage Therapists. ACOMT encourages students to study bodywork as it applies to athletics and human performance. ACOMT students are introduced to information that will allow them to create a practice tailored to their needs. The success of ACOMT is evaluated by how many graduates are achieving their goals. Therefore, ACOMT emphasizes the total business of bodywork, including the complex study of marketing, maintaining, and/or growing a successful practice of massage therapy.

School Credentials:

The Arkansas College of Massage Therapy is licensed by the Arkansas State Board of Massage Therapy to teach a minimum of 500 hours of the art and science of massage therapy. All instructors are qualified Massage Therapy Instructors (LMTI), Master Massage Therapist (LMMT), or have been selected because of advanced credentials within their field of study and practice.

In accordance with Federal and State regulations, the school admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at ACOMT. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in the administration of educational policies, admission policies and other school administrated programs.
